The Oasis Agricultural Learning Center (OALC) is a community asset that is recognized as a model for urban agriculture, utilizing best practices and producing high-quality fruit and vegetables. In addition, we are a critical model for the neighborhood coalition, engaging the community by providing training, educational programming, and job opportunities through a strong sense of care, commitment, and pride.
In 2019, Oasis Agricultural Learning Center (OALC) came into existence to provide the blueprint to systematically
revitalize economically distressed and low-income communities. We serve as a model for bridging the gap between residents and community organizations (for profit, non-profit, and educational) to achieve higher levels of social, economic and environmental vitality, sustainability and success for all.
The Oasis community has a history of demonstrating self-determination. OALC is a viable asset to the city and we demonstrate the willingness to be actively engaged in determining the community direction and success.
We support community beautification and community gardening efforts. OALC has consistently grown, thanks to the helping hands of our amazing community!
Our goal at OALC is to develop an agricultural practice that demonstrates responsible stewardship towards the community and the environment. We develop Cooperative Marketing Groups by collaborating with other small-scale farmers to address the greater food desert issue of the Dayton region. We mobilize schools and youth organizations to help us cultivate, plant, and harvest a variety of produce and plants.
Your generous donation will fund our mission.
